Andrex® Skin Kind Toilet Tissue has been specially designed to help maintain the health of your skin because it has a soft CleanRipple™ texture which helps to remove bacteria which can cause irritation. The SoftSoothe lotion with prebiotic also helps to build the healthy bacteria on your skin.
Helping to maintain skin health is something Andrex® is committed to, as reflected by the fact that the British Skin Foundation recognises Andrex® research into clean and healthy skin.
Andrex® believes the best way to keep your body healthy is to prevent a problem before it starts. That's why we have developed our new Skin Kind Toilet Tissue and Washlets that are enriched with our skin-loving SoftSoothe lotion, containing a prebiotic, to help maintain the skin’s natural balance. This means that you can protect and care for your skin with every wipe.
Both prebiotics and probiotics are important for human health, however they play different roles.
A prebiotic is a type of dietary fibre, or ‘food’, that helps to feed the friendly bacteria in your gut and encourage the development of a healthier digestive system by increasing the number of beneficial bacteria in your body. In contrast, a probiotic is already present in the gut, and all around our body, it feeds on the prebiotics we consume to assist with the maintenance of a healthy digestive system.1, 2

Probiotics have an important role to play in helping to maintain a healthy level of good bacteria in your gut, which in turn encourages the development of a heathier digestive system. Adding prebiotics to the mix however ensures the beneficial bacteria has something to feed on, ensuring that probiotics are happy, healthy and ready to protect your skin as well as your gut health.3

The Fine to Flush certification is a new UK standard which determines, through scientific testing, whether flushable wipes can be flushed down toilets and pass safely through sewer systems. It was introduced by Water UK last year.
We’re proud that Andrex® Washlets™ Moist Toilet Tissues is the first major brand in the UK to receive the Fine to Flush certification which means that its products can carry the Fine to Flush logo. Our Washlets have passed rigorous scientific tests and will break down in the sewer system and not cause blockages.
Our moist toilet tissues are made from 100% natural fibres. They do not contain plastic and are also biodegradable.
Andrex® Classic Clean Washlets™ Moist Toilet Tissue packs are now recycle-ready. They can be recycled with plastic bags at large supermarkets. Our other packs (Andrex® Gentle Clean Washlets™ Moist Toilet Tissue, Andrex® Supreme Washlets™ Moist Toilet Tissue and Andrex® Skin Kind Washlets™ Moist Toilet Tissue) will move in to recycle-ready packs in the upcoming weeks. This change will save 121 tonnes of plastic from going into landfill every year.
Andrex® Washlets™ Moist Toilet Tissues are absolutely safe to flush down your toilet as they have passed both international INDA/EDANA flushability standard and now the UK flushable standard Fine to Flush. Additionally, our product now disperses faster than the previous Andrex® Washlets™ Moist Toilet Tissues making them safe for the UK sewer systems.
Not all wipes are flushable and it is important to always check the products’ packaging for advice on how to best dispose of the product. If a wipe is labelled ‘Do Not Flush’, it is important to throw these in the bin, otherwise they can contribute to sewer blockages and fatbergs.
Most non-flushable wipes such as baby wipes, cosmetic wipes and household cleaning wipes contain plastic in order to give wipes strength, so they don’t break up in use. Baby wipes, cosmetic wipes and household wipes must never be flushed down the toilet as they can contribute to sewer blockages and fatbergs and should be disposed of in a bin instead. All non-flushable wipes should carry the ‘Do Not Flush’ label on their packs.
Andrex® Washlets™ Moist Toilet Tissues, are made from 100% natural fibres and 0% plastic. They have passed both international (INDA/EDANA Flushability Guidelines) and UK (Water UK Fine to Flush Specification) requirements and are fine to be flushed at home.
A staggering 2 billion people – 1 in 4 – still don’t have a decent toilet of their own. Andrex® and WaterAid believe these basic human rights should be normal for everyone, everywhere, which is why our joint initiative, Toilets Change Lives, aims to improve public toilets to increase dignity and public health for communities in Bangladesh.
785 million people don’t have access to clean water close to home, that’s 1 in 10 around the world. Without clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, people can’t stay healthy. Children are frequently sick and miss school, and parents are too ill, or busy caring for their families, to work. People living without these basic human needs do not have an equal chance to be healthy, educated and financially secure.
Andrex® and WaterAid are committed to making a positive change for communities around the world which need the most support. The Toilets Change Lives initiative has already helped transform hundreds of thousands of lives by constructing new, or renovating existing, public toilets in Bangladesh. With your support, Andrex® and WaterAid can help to build toilets for families in Bangladesh and transform the lives of thousands more people by improving public sanitation facilities.
The Toilets Change Lives initiative is a collaboration with leading NGOs, Andrex® and WaterAid in the UK. Together with the expertise of WaterAid, Andrex® is investing in programs that build, repair, and maintain toilet infrastructure, and teach people and communities good hygiene practices.
Since 2017, Andrex® and WaterAid have now built and renovated 9 public toilet blocks in Bangladesh. Due to its success, the initiative has since moved into a third city, Khulna – Bangladesh’s third largest - following the significant impact the toilets had for the communities in Dhaka and Chattogram (previously known as Chittagong).
Without clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, disease spreads fast. In Bangladesh alone, over 2,000 children under 5 die from diarrhoea each year, and over 85 million people in Bangladesh lack access to 'at least basic' sanitation.
